Vhong Navarro’s annulment case remains unsettled in court

Vhong Navarro is thrilled to be back onscreen as Lastikman together with Kapitan Boom (Jon Avila), Varga (Mariel Rodriguez), Tiny Tony (John Prats), Dragonna (Shaina Magdayao), and Flash Bomba (Luis Manzano) by the third quarter of this year. “Una sa lahat, excited ako dahil babalik na siLastikman. Pangalawa, excited ako dahil hindi na lang ako yung naka-costume, marami na kami. Pero kahit mahirap ang naka-costume at umaarte ka at the same time, worth itnaman dahil alam kong mag-eenjoy yung mga taong nag-aabang ngIsang Lakas,” he told ABS-CBN.com after the show’s story conference last Thursday night, February 12.

This is one of the projects that he has been waiting for since last year and he is very happy to know for sure that they will start taping next month. “Nung una ko kasing ginawa yung Lastikman, hindi ko in-expect na bubuuin yung lahat ng Mars Ravelo’s Komiks na TV series. Kaya na-excite ako nung nalaman ko na pagsasama-samahain pala pati yung ibang famous superheroes niya. Ayoko masyadong maniwala noon hangga’t ‘di pa nagsisimula. Pero finally ‘eto na, nag-storycon na kami, nakita ko na yung mga kasamahan ko. So feeling ko ito na yun, tuloy na tuloy na. Feeling ko mas excited pa ako sa mga manonood,” he exclaimed.

Aside from working with a cast whom he is already familiar with, the dashing comedian further shared some of the plot’s exciting twists. “Parang lumalabas na si Lastikman yung pine-peg nilang leader nung iba pangsuperheroes. Of course hindi ko pa pwedeng i-divulge yung details ng story. Pero isa pa sa mga dapat abangan ng mga tao sa Isang Lakasay yung love triangle nina Lastikman, Georgina, at Flash Bomba,” he revealed. The female love interest will be played by Maricar Reyes whom Vhong already worked with in I Love Betty La Fea.

As for his real-life sweetheart Desiree del Valle, Vhong remained elusive about the status of their relationship because of certain legalities. “Ayun, okay pa rin naman yung annulment [case] ko, hindi pa rin tapos kaya sobrang mahirap [magsalita at this point in time] at kaya ganoon po ang aking mga sagot sa mga intriga,” he responded when asked about his plans for this month of hearts. “Magtatatrabaho ako. Magkakaro’n ako ng show sa probinsiya. So work ang gagawin ko sa Valentine’s Day. Puro audience ang mga makakasama ko. Kahit post-Valentine celebration wala rin, dahil hindi siguro ako aabot,” he added.

Just like what happened with Diether Ocampo and Kristine Hermosa’s annulment, Vhong hopes that the court would also settle his case soon so that he and ex-wife Bianca Lapus could both move on with their lives. “Sana kasi dapat makuha ko na yung kasulatan na dapat tapos na [yung annulment namin]. Kasi hangga’t wala sa akin yun, hindi ako pwede magsalita. Siyempre nakakaramdam tayo ng kalungkutan dahil alam nating nasa proseso yun pero hindi pa rin natatapos. Kasi gusto rin naman naming parehong manahimik na ni Bianca. Kasi alam natin na masaya na kami sa kanya-kanya naming buhay,” he stressed.
