Vhong and Toni reunite on the big screen

Vhong Navarro has begun shooting a movie with Toni Gonzaga under Star Cinema, their first project together after the hit comedy D’ Anothers in 2005 and their now defunct news parody show Wazzup Wazzup on Studio 23. During his contract signing with ABS-CBN for I Love Betty La Fea, Vhong shared his excitement about working once again with Toni.

"Sobrang saya namin kasi afterWazzup Wazzupat D Anothers matagal kaming hindi nagkita. Hindi na tulad ng dati na everyday nagkakasama kami. Ngayon magkakasama na kami uli. Kasi kami ni Toni para kaming nilikha para maging magkatambal. Masaya rin dahil makakasama namin ang magaling na director na si Cathy Garcia Molina. First time kong makakasama si Direk Cathy kaya excited ako dahil alam kong aalagaan niya at pagagandahin niya yung pelikula," he said.

The dancer-comedian could not be more proud of his friendship with Toni who is now a well-known host, actress, product endorser, and recording artist. But was there ever a point that their relationship took a romantic swerve? "Nagkagusto rin naman ako kay Toni before. Nasa kabila pa siya, crush ko na siya. Pero magkaibigan talaga kami. Madali para sa isang lalaki na ma-in love kay Toni dahil maganda siya, matalino, talented," he revealed. Toni has been very open about her relationship Direk Paul Soriano, while Vhong would rather not talk about the real score between him and Desiree Del Valle.

Until the movie hits theaters, Vhong will be busy taking on the role of Nicholas Mora in I Love Betty La Fea. In this much-anticipated teleserye, Vhong is the equally smart and less-than-gorgeous best friend of Betty played by Bea Alonzo. After top-billing in several box office movies and other TV shows, Vhong says that he doesn’t mind playing support to the love team of Bea and John Lloyd Cruz. "Supporting role man, wala naman akong problema kina John Lloyd at Bea.Kaibigan ko silang dalawa. Isa pa malaking project ang I Love Betty La Fea. Kahit supporting,malaking karangalan na para sa isang artista na makasama sa cast."
