Vhong defends Toni on cause of delay allegations

Reunited on the big screen after their successful pairing in the 2005 comedy D’ Anothers, comedian Vhong Navarro admits that he and co-star Toni Gonzaga are happy to be working again on a big project after a long time. “Sobrang na-miss namin ang isa’t isa. After three years mula nung ginawa namin yung D’Anothers, ngayon pa lang kami ulit gumawa ng pelikula. Parang kaming nagbabatuhan pa rin off-cam, masaya parang ganun,” he happily shared. Vhong and Toni first worked together on the Studio 23 news parody show Wazzup Wazzup in 2004. “Parang mas lumalim nga yung pagkakaibigan naming ngayon mula noon. Mas lumalim, mas masaya ngayon,” he added.

When reports came out that delays in shooting their movie My Only U were due to Toni’s other projects, Vhong quickly denied the allegations and came to his good friend’s defense. So they needed to revise it and re-shoot scenes.

The comedian-dancer even goes as far to say that he is proud of Toni’s accomplishments and how she has evolved as a performer. The best pa rin.

Despite the fact that they’re currently both happily seeing other people, (Toni with director Paul Soriano and Vhong with actress Desiree Del Valle) they are still constantly being linked together because of their undeniable on- and off-screen chemistry. But Vhong admits it isn’t hard to see why guys are attracted to the Entertainment Live! host. “Mahirap magsabi ng special feelings. Siguro as a friend meron, pero kung sa pelikula may makikita man sila na special feelings, sa movie na lang yun,” he stressed.

My Only U is part of the 15th anniversary offering of Star Cinema and is slated for release next in October. For more updates on Vhong Navarro and your favorite Kapamilya celebrities, keep logging on daily to www.abs-cbn.com.
